Wait,Wait – Tell All

Turns out there is a social networking site for millionaires. Begun in 2008, the idea was to offer an “invitation-only” social networking site for the well heeled. Facebook for the fabulously wealthy. It appears it was on shaky ground almost from the beginning because as Valley Wag reported, ‘the site has become a haven for wealthy men looking to spend some time with beautiful women while jetting in and out of ritzy destinations.” It appeared even then to be walking a fine line between pimping and self-promotion of a lifestyle.

But what really seems to be sinking the site is the fact that people like you and I can actually LIE about our income on-line (gasp) and gain access to the exclusive club.

Sorta ruining it for all the truly wealthy.

I’m enrolled in a Social Media conference for the month of May. Yes, I said month. It has over 20 high-profile speakers who will be speaking to 2200 people scattered all over the United States on topics such as facebook, building community, twitter-ology and more.
