GMT News-n-View is based on a model for NEW MEDIA which refers not only to how news is formatted, but also to the content available.

Each week this site will strive to bring you a selection of posts, op-ed pieces, video clips and links on issues affecting life in our communities. To do so we will rely on contributing writers, citizen journalists and our own network of resources. While traditional print media offers the comfort of reading a newspaper over a cup of coffee – the New Media offers every reader the chance to respond to what they read in real time. So if you read something here that you agree or disagree with, please add your comments to the various posts.

A note on Commenting: Please remember the  Net holds all copy and content  – forever… or close to it. So be sure your comments are something you’d like to have as a historic document. Give some thought to how you want to add to the debate on any issue. We welcome your comments and a healthy debate on any topic. Please  leave the Jerry-Springer type comments to the JS show.

This site will archive all posts and comments so you’ll beable to search on any topic (FOR FREE) which is discussed here and pull up all content on that issue. See: Search.

Re: Op-Ed Posts We have openings for Op-Ed columnists who would like to contribute to this site on a monthly basis. It requires a commitment to submit a piece every month and monitor your Op-Ed post to respond to comments as needed. Re: Citizen Journalist and Video Clips

We  encourage “citizen journalism” and “citizen video” which help to entertain, educate or simply “opinionate” on issues affecting our community. After all, that is the power of the NEW MEDIA and this site will give YOU the power to have your voice heard and opinion aired. Plus it will be … entertaining. Look for  podcasts, on-line public opinion polls and video clips, in addition to weekly posts, op-ed pieces and links to resources on local issues.
