Kirkpatrick challenges Gosar to Debates

Last week,Paul Gosar won the Republican nomination to go up against Ann Kirkpatrick for the District 1 seat. Gosar who received 31% of the votes beat out Sydney Hay (23%) and Bradley Beauchamp, Rusty Bowers, and Stephen Mehta.

Gosar has been challenged to a series of five debates over the course of the next 68 days to the General Election.

Gosar has yet to respond.

In other election results:

Bill Konopnicki, who had reached his term limit in the house and had campaigned for Sylvia Allen’s 5th District seat, lost to Allen 45-to-55% of the vote. Allen will face Elaine Bohlmeyer, Democrat, in November.

And John McCain easily held of JD Hayworth with 56 percent of the votes to Hayworth’s 32 percent. Distant third was Jim Deakin with 12 percent.

Jan Brewer sailed to a win with 81 percent of the vote and she will face Terry Goddard in November for the State’s highest office.

The most contentious race was between Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas and State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Horne. As of Friday, Horne declared victory with an 853 vote lead over Thomas.
