Fact Check with AZ Republic
It’s time for Politics this season with mid-term elections and that means it’s time to dust off your Fact-Checking files and have them handy. Recently the Arizona Republic, announced a new service called AZ Fact Check to help you keep up with separating Fact from Fiction this Fall. Reporters from The Republic and Channel 12 News, plus students from ASU will weigh in on this project to do the research.
Here’s the cool part. If some one makes a statement you just find hard to believe, you can submit this to their website and they’ll look into it. The results will be posted on the website and in The Republic. They will even take a video clip, as they did here, and give you a run down on the truth meter. In this clip Thomas gets just TWO stars for stating things which are Mostly UnTrue.
You might recall that it was Andrew Thomas and Sheriff Joe Arpaio who went after Maricopa County Supervisors despite being told repeatedly their case had little merit. Thomas even forwarded the case the Gila County Attorney Daisy Flores, who accepted it (but outsourced it to another attorney) before discovering that a Grand Jury had ruled on it. Thomas, it appears, didn’t inform Flores of that little fact. A Grand Jury found that ‘ the Sheriff’s Office and Thomas had a single-minded purpose: to prosecute their political enemies.’
And this guy is running for Attorney General?
